  Andrés Medina is one of the most outstanding artists Malinalco State of Mexico.

From the earliest years showed facilities for drawing, painting and wood carving. In the latter technique produced several pieces, from toys to pre-Hispanic musical instruments, traditional activity of local artisans.

  Restless in his search for new forms, is part of the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Toluca "Luisa Isabel Campos Jiménez Cantú" in three years where he studied painting, he attended technical workshops, materials and procedures taught painting by Luis Nishizawa, and later taking courses in production of the human figure drawing at the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana.

  His experience, mastering the techniques and sensitivity have allowed to be in charge of restoration and conservation projects of the decoration of various historical monuments and other buildings, the Capilla de la Soledad in Malinalco. Also   assigned the research and restoration of important pieces of religious iconography of the place where it originated, the time to develop culture-related activities,   ecology and rescue of traditions.

  Andrés Medina is considered more self-taught, and that through experimenting with different materials, both in painting and sculpture, has   successfully developed   own techniques, which coupled with his great insight and knowledge of the surrounding environment, have allowed him to venture into this exciting craft activity.

  Andrés Medina is known for its wood carvings, which has incorporated other elements such as shell, bone, fiber and obsidian, among other things, that have enriched his work. Series that has made outstanding   Beautiful faces, in which each work emerges a face, and not yet "exhausted", according to Andrew, because he still has much to say, in his words "... I try just to rescue the essence, to me unavoidable, a magical, "Where the reality and dream."

In this production parts are added monumental human figure, as Malinalxochitl as the mythical character or the Eagle Warrior, which evokes the pre-Hispanic past in a contemporary sculptural proposal.

  In his painting, just as handle different textures such as silver leaf or gold, in other prints an intense color, and continues the series that made in sculpture such as the Beautiful Face and Xoloitzcuintli, also highlights the number of Virgin, which is added to their tributes to the warriors, shamans, and nature.

 

From the fourteen years he has participated in group shows, which to date amount to 19, most made in the State of Mexico, has also been in Guanajuato, Morelos, in Mexico City and Havana, Cuba.

  Individual has been invited to exhibit their work at the University Museum Dr. Luis Mario Schneider and Cultural Center "Home of the Proceedings", both areas of the Autonomous University of Mexico State, in the House of Culture Malinalco font-family: ">, in the Exhibition Hall of the Ex - Office of Tampico, Tamaulipas, and in the Museo Casa del Risco del Centro Cultural Isidro Fabela, City Mexico.

In case the artwork has been put up for sale, take into account the artist would have to manage with the organization of the exhibition the return of the artwork in order to be able to realize the shipment.
